SMASH CAKE!!

Despite having Roseola, we had a 1st birthday smash cake photo shoot! We had booked and paid a background stand for this weekend so we figured we would try the best we could without pushing her too hard or making her feel more sick.

For feeling the way she feels, she did pretty darn good! I made a giant cupcake for our pink theme and had more poses in mind but this is what we got :)

Roseola

My poor baby has Roseola! This happened all so strangely. First off, she is getting five upper teeth, two of which are making there way through the gum. As a result, her gums are pretty swollen and she had been sort of fussy as of Tuesday of this past week. That night she had a small fever of 38 degrees. After a night of being awake a few times and given some Tylenol, her temp went down a bit. The next day, Wednesday, she was drooling SO MUCH. At daycare, she went through 3 shirts and ended up wearing one of the other kids' shirts. Naturally, I blame all of this on teething. When I picked her up, her sitter said she woke up with a red/puffy eye. So, I got a bit worried but thought she may had just slept on it funny because it went away. Then she was sort of better Thursday but her puffy eyes came back and still lots of drooling.

Friday she was very irritable, her temp was normal but started refusing bottles and food. Right before her doctor's appointment she woke up from a 3 hour long nap with a rash all over her neck back and forehead. The doctor told me it was all due to teething and her temp gave her a heat rash. I found this kind of strange but took her word for it.

My mom saw a picture the next day of Hailey's rash and said it looked like Roseola! At that point I instantly knew she was right because I knew it was just too odd for her to have all of these other symptoms over teething! I took her into a different clinic yesterday and the doctor there agreed that it was Roseola. Poor little pumpkin. Needless to say, she had a sore throat and not much of an appetite hence the eating and drinking refusal.

Today she seems a bit better, she slept through the night last night and had a very good appetite for supper. I decided to feed her purees instead for tonight to make it easy to swallow and she had some watered down apple juice to get some energy. Hope she is back to her normal self soon!

First day of childcare!

Hailey had her first day of daycare on Noc. 19! It went really well. She goes to a private daycare where a woman takes care of two other little boys. The older of the two was so interested in Hailey and wanted to show her all of the toys they had! It was so cute. Hailey loved this of course so she was just sitting there clapping her hands! That made it very easy to leave.

It was sort of a gradual entry so we did two half days then two full days. Once I go back to work she will do Monday to Thursday and I'll have her for a three day weekend :) So not too bad.

My little mini mouse

My dear little Hailey has an increasing amount of Minnie Mouse items lol. It's all because her favorite cartoon is Mickey Mouse clubhouse! Anyway, she outgrew some of her pj's suddenly so I went and bought a few more. Including this adorable outfit that came with the housecoat! I couldn't resist.

For more exciting news. She is commando crawling all over the place now. Obviously wanting everything but toys. Today I found her digging in the magazines under our coffee table lol.

The funniest change is now Kelohe is like "uh oh, she's coming towards me" haha, and runs away. Those poor cats...In other developments, she suddenly is very talkative. She babbled before but not like the past few days. Today it was cute because we were skyping with papa and nana, but it was her nap time so when we hung up I put her to bed and she started yelling "nananana"...and when that didn't work she fell asleep. Funny girl.

11 months!

I'm a little late posting this but on Oct. 30th, Hailey turned 11 months! One whole month away from a year old! We were pretty busy with Halloween and other things that I never had a chance to do some 11 month photos! So, today we went to the park since it was nice and sunny and finally got some shots!

Stats:
Weight- I have a hard time weighing her because she naps during the weigh-ins at the community center. I have tried weighing her on the wii but with me holding her, which gives her 20lbs give or take a couple of ounces.
Height- 29 in
Foods- Eats just about everything we eat minus honey and nuts. Although, she does eat peanut butter. Her new favorite are tomatoes. She feeds herself really well too. We never had a problem with that hehe.
Developments- Isn't crawling or walking yet. She just recently learned to sit herself from laying, but doesn't do it often. Moves backwards, I wouldn't call it crawling backwards, but she tries to get on fours but ends up going backwards. Can take steps while holding her, and loves to stand at her play table. She is really winy though when she wants something but can't figure out how to get to it. She knows how to put this ball in the hole of one of her toys and knows that the shaped blocks need to go in certain holes but can't quite fit them in yet. She also recognizes Kelohe's name (when I call it she looks around for the cat).
Words: "mama", "dada", "hi"..and I heard her whisper "bye" but that was just once hehe. She also recently started making a "tttt or th" sounds too.

Last but not least, she is weaned from her soother! She only needed it to nap or sleep and one night she just kept spitting it out so I took it away cold turkey and she was fine. Next day didn't give it to her for her naps. Again, fine! It has been 5 days and falls asleep no problem without it :)

Hailey's 1st Halloween!

It was so fun celebrating Hailey's first halloween! We dressed her up as a Cabbage Patch Kid and I couldn't have picked a better costume for her! She played the part well.
We started off in the morning by going to Rob's work. We dressed her up and showed her off. I don't think she realized why she was getting tons of attention, but she loved it haha. She kept smiling and smiling and ven though she almost passed out on the lunch room table from being so tired, she still didn't fuss.

Next, we went back home for nap time, then we went to Capilano mall for trick or treating! We just went this mall because it's closest to us and we didn't want to overwhelm her with too much. She did great though, there was tons of little kids dressed up and she loved shaking the smarties boxes. That was fun for her until I had to take it away since she opened the box :( She also enjoyed the music there too.

For supper we had halloween burgers! By that I mean homemade burgers with real cheddar slices cut like pumpkins on top. Hailey even had some!!

All in all, a pretty fun day :)
